Master Client Service Agreement, Liability Waiver, and Service Policies
1. Scope of Services
Foxy and the Hound provides professional animal training, behaviour consultation, walk
and train services, cooperative care training, drop‑in visits, pet sitting services, virtual
consultations, and related pet care services. Services are provided by Shelby
Mildenberger, Registered Veterinary Technologist and certified animal behaviour
professional.
All services are delivered using humane, science‑based training methods and in
accordance with recognized professional standards within the animal behaviour and
veterinary professions.
2. Assumption of Risk
The Client acknowledges that working with animals involves inherent and unpredictable
risks including but not limited to bites, scratches, lunging, escape of the animal, property
damage, injury to persons or animals, illness, permanent disability, or death.
While Foxy and the Hound takes reasonable precautions to promote safety, such risks
cannot be completely eliminated and the Client voluntarily accepts these risks when
engaging services.
3. Professional Standards and Limitations
Shelby Mildenberger is a Registered Veterinary Technologist and certified behaviour
professional. Services provided by Foxy and the Hound follow science‑based training
principles and professional best practices.
Training and behaviour services do not replace veterinary medical diagnosis, treatment,
or advice. Veterinary consultation may be recommended when appropriate.
4. Responsibility for Animal BehaviourAnimals are inherently unpredictable. The Client accepts full responsibility for the
behaviour of their pet(s) and any injury, damage, or loss caused by their pet to people,
animals, or property.
If the Client’s pet bites or injures Shelby Mildenberger or any representative of Foxy and
the Hound, the Client agrees to assume responsibility for medical expenses, lost wages,
and associated costs.
5. Third‑Party Liability
During services the Client’s pet may encounter members of the public, other animals,
vehicles, or environmental stimuli.
The Client accepts responsibility for any injury or damage caused by their pet to third
parties and agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Foxy and the Hound and Shelby
Mildenberger from related claims, damages, or legal actions.
6. Animal Interaction Liability
Dogs may encounter other animals during services. Despite precautions, interactions
may occur.
The Client accepts responsibility for any injury or damage caused by their pet to another
animal including veterinary expenses and related costs.
7. Behaviour Disclosure
The Client must disclose any known history of aggression, biting, reactivity, fear‑based
behaviours, or other behavioural concerns prior to the start of services.
Failure to disclose such information may result in termination of services without refund.
8. Client Compliance with Management Recommendations
The Client agrees to follow management and safety recommendations provided by Foxy
and the Hound including equipment use and environmental management strategies.
Foxy and the Hound shall not be responsible for incidents resulting from failure to follow
recommended guidance.
9. Equipment Responsibility
Clients must provide safe and properly fitted collars, harnesses, and leashes.
Foxy and the Hound shall not be responsible for incidents resulting from faulty or
improperly fitted equipment supplied by the Client.
10. Weather and Environmental Conditions
Outdoor services may be modified or cancelled due to unsafe weather including extreme
cold, extreme heat, icy conditions, smoke, storms, or other hazards.Outdoor walks may not occur when temperatures fall below approximately −15°C to
−20°C including wind chill.
11. Veterinary Emergency Authorization
If a pet becomes ill or injured and the Client cannot be reached, the Client authorizes
Foxy and the Hound to seek veterinary care.
The Client agrees to be financially responsible for all veterinary expenses incurred.
12. Training Outcome Disclaimer
Animal behaviour is influenced by genetics, environment, health status, and consistency
of training practices.
Foxy and the Hound makes no guarantee regarding specific behavioural outcomes or
training results.
13. Payment Policy
All payments are non‑refundable and non‑transferable.
Training packages expire six (6) months from the purchase date unless otherwise
specified.
14. Pet Sitting Deposit
A fifty percent (50%) non‑refundable and non‑transferable deposit is required at the time
of booking pet sitting services. The remaining balance must be paid prior to the
commencement of services.
15. Drop‑In Visits
Payment for drop‑in visits is required in full at the time of booking. All drop‑in payments
are non‑refundable and non‑transferable.
16. Safety Termination
Foxy and the Hound reserves the right to terminate or modify services if a situation
becomes unsafe for the trainer, the animal, or members of the public.
17. Property Access
Clients must provide safe and reliable access to their residence. Foxy and the Hound is
not responsible for missed visits due to inaccessible homes or incorrect entry
information.
18. Cameras
Clients must disclose indoor cameras. Cameras must not be placed in private areas
used by the sitter such as bathrooms or sleeping areas
.19. Pet Health
Clients must disclose contagious illness, parasites, injury, or recent surgery prior to
services.
20. Emergency Contact
Clients must provide an emergency contact and veterinary clinic in case the owner
cannot be reached.
21. Indemnification
The Client agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Foxy and the Hound and Shelby
Mildenberger from any claims, damages, or legal actions arising from the behaviour of
the Client’s pet.
Agreement by Booking
By booking this session I agree that I have read, understood, and accept the Foxy and
the Hound Master Client Service Agreement, Liability Waiver, and Service Policies
outlined above.
Booking any service with Foxy and the Hound constitutes acceptance of these terms
and forms a binding agreement between the Client and Foxy and the Hound.
Electronic booking constitutes agreement to these terms in the same manner as a
written signature.
